SKiBA (School for Culture Animators and Librarians) in Wrocław is a two-year vocational school dedicated to artistic schooling that acts on behalf of The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It has worked continuously for fifty six years, forming over six thousand organizers of cultural events in the following specializations: local communities’ animation, art-therapy, film, pantomime, dance, theatre, as well as librarians with bibliotherapeutic specialization, unique in Poland. The graduates work in Poland and abroad, where, as part of the post-accession emigration, they disseminate Polish culture. SKiBA is not only a school, but also – in a broader sense – a cultural institution collaborating with other organizations. It organizes workshops, academic conferences, and issues publications on the themes related to organization of cultural events, including the quarterly Biblioterapeuta (Bibliotherapist), published continuously for eighteen years. SKiBA has co-created The Polish Bibliotherapy Society.
