Ginka Tscholakowa (born 1945, Bulgaria) is a translator, writer, and theatre and film director. She came to the German Democratic Republic in the 1960s and has been living primarily in Berlin ever since. Between 1967 and 1986, Tscholakowa and Müller worked together on many projects, including The Task and Macbeth, which they staged at the Volksbühne in the early 1980s. Ginka Tscholakowa was a member of the jury at the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre for many years. Recently, she has produced a film to celebrate the 100th birthday of Stephan Hermlin.
