Adela Karsznia received her PhD in Theatre from the University of Wrocław, and professional diplomas in Translation (UNESCO centre for Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication) and in Cultural Management (Association Marcel Hicter/Polish National Centre for Culture). She is a former acting Head Archivist and international publishing coordinator at the Grotowski Institute (2005–12), including the Icarus-Routledge book series, and is co-editor of Polish Theatre Perspectives (PTP), a peer-reviewed scholarly and artistic resource that investigates Polish theatre cultures — past and present — and situates them in dialogue with other world traditions of critical and creative practice. Her writing and translations have appeared in PTP, Didaskalia, Performer, Performance Research, and in several academic books, films, and edited collections. Since 2012, she has served as co-director of the nonprofit organization TAPAC: Theatre and Performance Across Cultures and of Culture Hub, a new digital platform for multilingual exchange in the arts. She is co-convenor of the European Theatre Perspectives international symposium, Wrocław 2016.
