Marta Kufel is a doctoral student in the theatre programme at the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University, Kraków. She published the book Błędne Betlejem Tadeusza Kantora (Tadeusz Kantor’s Errant Bethlehem, Kraków, 2013). In her research into 20th-centry Polish theatre, she seeks a new formula to describe a post-Holocaust experience, establishing links between unorthodox Christian theology, Polish theatre and modern philosophy. She is now writing a dissertation on the similarities and differences between Jerzy Grotowski and Tadeusz Kantor. She has contributed to a number of journals, including Didaskalia, Konteksty and Teatr. Marta Kufel is a married mother.
